Late Dr. D. N. Tewari firmly believed that education was the most powerful instrument for transforming lives and building a progressive nation.
He envisioned institutions that would not merely impart knowledge but would nurture character, leadership, ethical values, and a lifelong commitment to service.
With this vision, he founded the Shambhunath Group of Institutions under the aegis of UTTHAN, with the objective of providing quality professional education while fostering
academic excellence, discipline, innovation, and social responsibility. He believed that every educational institution should serve as a centre of learning where students were empowered to
achieve their highest potential and contribute meaningfully to society.
For Shambhunath Institute of Law (SIL), Dr. Tewari envisioned an institution that would prepare legal professionals dedicated to justice, constitutional values,
and the rule of law. He believed that legal education should extend beyond classrooms by integrating academic learning with practical exposure, ethical reasoning,
research, and community engagement, thereby producing graduates capable of addressing the evolving needs of society.
His vision was to see SIL emerge as a centre of excellence in legal education, producing advocates, judges, legal scholars, policymakers, and public servants who would uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and public service.
He believed that the true success of an institution lay not only in the achievements of its students but also in the positive impact they created for the nation and humanity.
The ideals and values envisioned by Late Dr. D. N. Tewari continue to guide Shambhunath Institute of Law in its pursuit of academic excellence, justice,
and nation-building. His vision remains the foundation upon which SIL continues to inspire future generations of legal professionals
committed to knowledge, integrity, and service.
