1. Introduction

Juris Prudentia SILJ is the official online, peer-reviewed, open-access law journal of Shambhunath Institute of Law, Prayagraj. Established with the objective of fostering a robust culture of legal research and scholarly engagement, the Journal seeks to provide a credible platform for academicians, researchers, legal practitioners, policymakers, and students to contribute original and thought-provoking research in the field of law and allied disciplines. The Journal is committed to advancing legal scholarship by encouraging critical analysis, interdisciplinary perspectives, and innovative approaches to contemporary legal issues. Through a rigorous double-blind peer review process and adherence to the highest standards of publication ethics, the Journal aims to contribute meaningfully to the development of legal knowledge and public discourse. The Journal shall be published in an online, open-access format on a biannual basis, ensuring free and unrestricted access to quality legal scholarship for readers across the globe.

2. Aim of the Journal


The primary aim of Juris Prudentia SILJ is to promote excellence in legal research and publication by providing an academic forum for the dissemination of original, analytical, and interdisciplinary work that contributes to the understanding and development of law, justice, governance, and public policy. The Journal seeks to:

  • Encourage research and academic writing among students and faculty members.
  • Facilitate scholarly dialogue between academia, the Bar, the Bench, and policymakers.
  • Promote critical examination of contemporary legal developments.
  • Support innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to legal studies.
  • Contribute to the advancement of legal education and justice delivery.>

3. Scope of the Journal


The Journal welcomes original and unpublished manuscripts from all branches of law and related interdisciplinary fields. It encourages contributions addressing theoretical, doctrinal, comparative, empirical, and policy-oriented dimensions of legal studies. The broad areas covered by the Journal include, but are not limited to:

  • Constitutional Law and Administrative Law.
  • Criminal Law and Criminology.
  • Civil and Commercial Laws.
  • Corporate and Insolvency Laws.
  • International Law and Human Rights.
  • Environmental and Climate Change Law.
  • Intellectual Property Rights.
  • Cyber Law, Artificial Intelligence, and Technology Law.
  • Labour and Employment Laws.
  • Family Law and Personal Laws.
  • Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
  • Taxation Laws.
  • Consumer Protection and Competition Law.
  • Law, Governance, and Public Policy.
  • Gender Justice and Social Justice.
  • Law and Emerging Technologies.
  • Interdisciplinary studies relating to law, economics, management, sociology, political science, and public               administration.
The Editorial Board may also announce special themes for individual issues to encourage focused scholarly discussion on emerging legal developments.

4. Types of Contributions Accepted

The Journal invites submissions in the following categories:

The Journal welcomes original and unpublished manuscripts from all branches of law and related interdisciplinary fields. It encourages contributions addressing theoretical, doctrinal, comparative, empirical, and policy-oriented dimensions of legal studies. The broad areas covered by the Journal include, but are not limited to:

Research Articles 4,000–8,000 words
Short Articles 2,500–4,000 words
Case Comments 1,500–3,000 words
Legislative and Policy Reviews 2,000–4,000 words
Book Reviews 1,000–2,000 words
Student Notes 1,500–3,000 words
The Editorial Board may, at its discretion, accept exceptional manuscripts that exceed the prescribed word limits.


5. Target Readership

The Journal is intended to serve:

  • Academicians and researchers.
  • Members of the Bar and the Bench.
  • Policy analysts and administrators.
  • Law students and research scholars.
  • Professionals working in interdisciplinary areas related to law and governance.
The Editorial Board may also announce special themes for individual issues to encourage focused scholarly discussion on emerging legal developments.


6. Publication Model

Juris Prudentia SILJ follows an Online, Open Access, Double-Blind Peer-Reviewed publication model. All published articles shall be made freely available to readers without subscription or access charges, thereby promoting wider dissemination and impact of legal research. The Journal shall be published biannually, ordinarily with one issue in the first half and one issue in the second half of each calendar year.


7. Commitment to Academic Excellence

The Journal is committed to maintaining the highest standards of editorial integrity, publication ethics, and scholarly quality. Every submission shall undergo a transparent editorial process and an impartial double-blind peer review. The Journal adheres to principles of originality, fairness, confidentiality, and academic honesty, and does not tolerate plagiarism or any form of publication malpractice.


8. Citation and Indexing

The Journal shall endeavour to obtain an ISSN (International Standard Serial Number) and, subject to regular publication and compliance with applicable norms, shall seek inclusion in recognised academic indexing and abstracting databases to increase the visibility and accessibility of the published work.
